I did the East End tour with José, but because I am here in Roatan during Low season, it was tough to find other people to go on the tour with me. Other tour operators needed a minimum number of people to go, or else it would’ve been a lot more costly to go solo. Not only was José very accommodating with my situation, he found a workaround where his family came along to enjoy a great day at the east end of the island, and to ensure that I would be able to go on this tour. That in itself speaks volumes to someone who figures it out and gets it done. We went to Jonesville to see the mangroves and enjoy the clear blue waters, to camp Bay to see the beauty of the beach there and ended with a late lunch in Punta Gorda - fried red snapper with rice and beans and plantain. Had a really good time! If you’re looking to do something other than the usual touristic things, like hang around West End and West Bay, I highly suggest going east!

Took us off our ship to our sloth and monkey experience. Then showed us the local hot spots. Beautiful beaches, reef, local vendors and artisans. Great transportation, history and culture of the island. My kids were comfortable and engaging with him. He felt warm and safe to them ! The first was the driving tour that included the Rum Distillery, Chocolate factory, sloths, etc…I had so much fun! Joe was amazing! Told me everything about where we were driving, seeing, doing. We laughed so much and he took amazing photos, helped me with the purchases I made (hello - personal shopper!) and I felt I made a “buddy” in Roatan.
The 2nd tour I did with a friend was the best day of our trip! Our driver picked us up - Hi, Diego! - and we went up to Jonestown to meet our boat. Justin took us to Pigeon Cay where we snorkeled with sharks and stingrays. We went to a shipwreck and more reefs. Lobster lunch was delish! Justin was very knowledgeable about all the surrounding mangroves, reefs, cays and towns. Even though we didn’t have the best weather, justin made our trip so enjoyable I cannot wait to go back and I will definitely book again with these guys. From the moment we started, it felt like hanging out with family. We visited the incredible animal exhibit and got to see playful monkeys, lazy sloths, and a bunch of Honduras’s natural wildlife. Then, we indulged in some delicious chocolate at the chocolate factory, explored a craft store full of beautiful island-made goodies, and even visited a rum factory where I got to try some rum cake! The day wasn’t complete without visiting the stunning beaches and capturing breathtaking views at the mountaintop!
